I. Performance-Driven Collaborative Design for CNC Machining of Aluminum

While ensuring mechanical properties, the topology of the part is optimized to reduce stress concentration and ensure good machinability. Simultaneously, the material state is precisely selected according to performance requirements, and the subsequent heat treatment processes are planned accordingly.

II. High Rigidity, Low Stress Machining

1. Stress Pretreatment and Datum Establishment: For large aluminum forgings or thick plates, vibration aging can be performed before machining to release the original internal stress of the material. Subsequently, a unified process datum for positioning throughout the entire process is established through large-plane milling or precision wire EDM, which is fundamental to ensuring the accuracy of multiple clamping operations.

2. High-Efficiency Roughing with Layered and Partitioned Machining: High-speed, large-depth-of-cut, and high-feed machining is used to quickly remove excess material. The key is symmetrical machining in partitions to balance the heat and stress generated during cutting, minimizing the overall tendency for deformation.

3. Semi-finishing and Stress Rebalancing: After roughing, the internal stress of the part is redistributed. The purpose of semi-finishing is not only to further approximate the final shape, but also to create a relatively balanced intermediate state of stress by uniformly removing material, laying a stable foundation for finishing. After this process, artificial aging is often performed to stabilize the stress.

4. Precision Forming and Surface Control: Using brand-new tools or ultra-fine grain carbide tools, final finishing is performed in a constant temperature environment. For high-load-bearing surfaces and mating surfaces, a small-pitch, small-depth-of-cut scraping process is used to directly obtain an ideal surface with high smoothness and low residual stress, which is crucial for fatigue life.

III. Verification-Driven Post-Processing

1. Post-machining processing and verification are the final guarantee to ensure that engineering components meet design performance.

2. Heat Treatment and Dimensional Stabilization: According to material and design requirements, solution treatment and artificial aging are performed to achieve the target mechanical properties. Subsequently, secondary stabilization aging or deep cryogenic treatment must be performed to minimize the potential for dimensional changes over time and ensure long-term dimensional stability.

3. Functional Surface Treatment and Non-Destructive Testing: Depending on the operating conditions, hard anodizing, micro-arc oxidation, and other treatments are performed to improve surface hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. After completion, fluorescent penetrant testing or X-ray inspection must be conducted to ensure that the parts are free of internal defects such as cracks and porosity.

4. Comprehensive Performance Verification: The final inspection is comprehensive. In addition to full-dimensional scanning using a coordinate measuring machine, hardness testing and metallographic analysis are required for key components. For components subjected to dynamic loads, vibration testing is the final and most important step in verifying their lifespan.
