The most significant advantage of CNC-machined scale rings lies in their exceptional geometric precision and scale accuracy. Utilizing high-precision CNC machining centers and precision indexing devices, the tolerances of the inner and outer diameters of the scale ring can be stably controlled within ±0.01mm, the flatness of the end face ≤0.005mm, and the circumferential positional accuracy of each scale line reaches ±0.5 arcminutes. In precision optical instruments and measuring equipment, this level of precision ensures accurate and reliable angle readings, minimizing measurement errors.

High consistency in mass production guarantees the mass manufacturing of instruments. In the mass production of scale rings for measuring instruments, the critical dimension dispersion of 5000 products does not exceed 0.005mm, with high consistency in indexing accuracy and a CPK value consistently maintained above 1.67. This high consistency eliminates the need for individual calibration after instrument assembly, significantly improving production efficiency.

II. Precise Implementation of Complex Gradients and Markings

CNC machining technology enables scale rings to achieve complex gradations and markings. Various engraving shapes can be precisely machined using CNC engraving, with engraving widths of 0.1-0.5mm, depths of 0.05-0.2mm, width accuracy ±0.005mm, and uniform depth.

III. Full Utilization of Aluminum scale ring Material Properties

Materials can be flexibly selected according to application requirements. H62 brass is a traditional material for graduation rings, offering good machinability, chrome plating, and a substantial feel. 6061 and 7075 aluminum alloys are used for lightweight graduation rings, and can be anodized to black, gold, or other colors. 304 stainless steel is used for corrosion-resistant applications, ensuring clear and durable graduations.

Precise Control of Surface Treatment. Brass graduation rings are precision-machined and then chrome-plated, with a plating thickness of 5-10μm and a hardness of HV800 or higher. The graduation lines are filled with black, providing a striking black-and-white contrast.

Heat Treatment Ensures Dimensional Stability. Aluminum alloy graduation rings undergo aging treatment after rough machining to eliminate machining stress and ensure that the graduation positions do not shift over long-term use. Precision graduation rings, after stabilization treatment, exhibit excellent dimensional stability.

IV. Optimization of Scale Filling and Visual Contrast

Precision Processing of Scale Line Filling: After CNC machining of the scale lines, black, red, and other pigments can be filled, resulting in full filling, a large color difference with the base material, and a sharp contrast.

Efficient Implementation of Illuminated Scale: Fluorescent powder filling grooves are machined on the scale ring, with a groove depth accuracy of ±0.01mm, and no overflow after filling.

Permanent Scale Markings by Laser Engraving: After CNC machining, secondary laser engraving can be performed, and the engraving depth can be precisely controlled.

V. Precision Design of Installation and Positioning Structure

Precision Machining of Positioning Stops: The diameter tolerance of the positioning stop on the scale ring is h6 grade, with a clearance of 0.01-0.02mm from the mating parts, ensuring high concentricity during installation. The precision stop on the rotary encoder scale ring ensures concentricity with the encoder body.

Precision Implementation of Threaded Connections: The thread accuracy on the scale ring is 6H/6g, ensuring good fit with the adjusting handwheel or locking nut.

Precision Machining of Set Screw Grooves. The set screw plane or recess is machined on the scale ring with a positional accuracy of ±0.05mm and precise phase relationship with the scale reference. An angle adjustment mechanism ensures the scale ring remains secure after the set screw is tightened.

VI. Manufacturing Efficiency and Customization Capabilities

High-speed engraving technology improves processing efficiency. Cutting speeds for aluminum alloys and brass can reach 1000-2000 rpm. Precision indexing lines and complex scale rings reduce the processing cycle from blank to finished product by more than 50% compared to traditional processes.

Flexible manufacturing adapts to diverse needs. Switching from one scale ring specification to another takes less than 30 minutes.

Q6: Are you a trading company or factory?

A6: We are factory direct with 17 experienced engineers and more than 50 employees as well approximate 3,000m2 workshop area.

A7: Please send your sample to our factory, then we can copy and provide you better solutions. If send us pictures or drafts with dimensions(Length, Height, Width), CAD or 3D file will be made for you.
